I am a Citizen of the United States. I also happen to be an American by virtue of the geographical location of the United States in North America.

Most Americans do not live in the United States. It is disrespectful to use the label American when referring to U.S. Citizens.

I am male, white Caucasian, atheist, libertarian, electrical engineer, and I am over 40. I label myself as a freethinker.

My interest in politics, history, and religion, has peaked in the last 5-10 years.

I do not trust our current federal government, especially the executive and legislative branches.

A warrantless search is an illegal search according to the 4th amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

I am a proponent of proportional representation.

I want to keep access to information on the internet free.

I believe that personal vehicles in the U.S. should get 50 miles per gallon (or not even burn fossil fuel), and that every home should have solar hot water. We have the technology and resources to do this, and have wasted the opportunity.

I do not believe that the "Patriot Act" has anything to do with being patriotic, but instead relieves U.S. citizens of our liberty.

I believe that most religions disseminate harmful intolerance, guilt, and sexual repression.

The loss of manufacturing jobs in the United States is shameful. We no longer have pride in our fellow countrymen’s craftsmanship. This will result in a lower standard of living for our progeny.

I believe in theory of evolution. The World’s scientific community should organize ethical standards for genetic engineering in order to curtail political intrusion in scientific discovery.

I enjoy reading Wikipedia. I am amazed at the knowledge that has been amassed by humans in such a short period, and I am grateful for the chance to learn by reading the work of others, so my thanks to everyone who has contributed to this excellent work.
