Just a Little Taste
[edit]This page is the run by Taylor Vail(A.K.A The Man), a freshman at Georgia Southern University. I am currently enrolled as a "transfer student". My situation involves me going to Georgia Southern For my freshman and sophomore year of college then transferring to Georgia Tech for the remainder of my education. My major is Civil Engineering because of my love to create and design so that in the future I can make life easier for others. For the future I am unsure if Georgia Tech is where I want to end up and I'm considering just spending all four years of college at GSU. As a student at Kennesaw Mountain High School I graduated with honors with a GPA of 3.7. I was apart of majority honors and Advanced Placement classes which consequently made me have a boring social life. One of the main motivations in going to GSU was to make up for lost times because it is a little known fact that GSU is a bit of a party school.
But unlike others, I know how to pace myself and I have real, tangible goals that I wish to accomplish. After Graduation I plan to take the position of my Grandfather at his Controls business that specializes in Designing, Installing, and Maintenance of control panel and pumps for water and waste-water plants. As for now though I earn money and keep entertained by umpiring Baseball at Adams Park. My personality is one that appears to be laid back from the outside, but I find it hard to just sit back and watch that's why I participate in in many hobbies like Golf, Wake boarding, and Rugby.
Working for Free
[edit]My current additions to Wikipedia have been small to this point with only one article I can call my own "George Branham III". This Article was done for my Composition I Class in College. My other contributions are just minor grammar editing and creating links those Articles Include
Relationship to technology
[edit]To be blunt, I know just enough about how to use technology to get me by day to day. I find that If I don't know how to use something I can usually tinker around with it for a few minutes and get it to work. Not but a few weeks ago I knew nothing about the inner workings of Wikipedia's editing and coding but by trial and error I can solve most of the technology problems I come across. I think it is important to have the skills with technology because our world revolves around it but my problem lies in the fact I don't have the patience. But when I do get that hang of the technology around me, I become very good at using it very quickly. These programs include, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Auto-CAD
To Wiki or not To Wiki....
[edit]I don't know what the big deal is when it comes to the legitimacy of Wikipedia articles. True there are those off beat topics and articles that no one ever checks or edits that may have outdated information or unreliable sources. I find that the majority of articles are always being looked at and scrutinized. I came to this conclusion because I created an article on a professional bowler with no real claim to fame besides being the first African American to win a title and I had already received 200 views within a week of posting. So I know articles get looked at and sometimes by those haters out there looking to delete articles that aren't up to their standards. Every time I've been on Wikipedia up to this point I have felt like I could trust the information that they were giving me.
"I speak American"
[edit]I am a native speaker of American English. I have no background in any other language unless barely passing high school Spanish qualifies me for something.

[edit]This here is my rant on living with new people at college! If you have actually read this far into my user page you would know I go to Georgia Southern University which is not but a hour from Savannah. So why is that my roommate decides to turn the air off, not just to a warmer setting, but compleatly off in the middle of September(Im talking 95 degrees). Let me paint you a picture here I have just walked a mile back from class in the heat, sweating up a storm, and when I open my door i get hit with a wave of heat no airflow at all in my dorm and the windows wide open. if any one can answer this I am all ears. I just don't get my room mate he will come into the room and just fiddle with s**t while I'm sleeping in the morning sooner or later there will be retaliation on my part and when I hold a grudge its not good for the opposite party. phewwww feel better already.
