Anti-Hetman Uprising  | uprising in November and December 1918, in result of the uprising in the UPR in change to the Hetman Pavlo Skoropadski came the goverment OF the Directory of the UPR

Preconditions

April 29 1918, there was held a Ukranian congress of breadmakers in Kyiv, on witch evereone picked Pavlo Skoropadski as hetman. The Central Council was removed from power, and insteadof the UPR there was formed the Ukranian Contury (ukr: Українська Держава)

Pavlo Skoropadski in his views was very conservative. Because political resistance where big landowners. Doubt to his figure from the pepole from the conturyside was destroyed by Social-democratic parties and Social-revolucionery parties, the main activists where Volodymyr Vynnychenko and Symon Petlura.

The Uprising

13 November in Kyiv there was a Meating of the socialist parties of Ukraine, and there a desigion made to create the Dyrectorate of Ukraine. the Uprising started. 14 November the members of the Dyrectorate arrived to the Bila Cerkva, that was the centre of the uprising. In that time there was located a separate sqad of the Sich Rifilemen (1500 men). These man where the support of the whole Directorate, and these are words of Volodymyr Vynnychenko that show that

...but the main streingh, on witch i putted my biggest hope, was the polk of the Sich Rifilemen, Galicians, that standed in the Bila Tcerkva. He had fifteen hundred bayonets, was disciplined very good and was from national conscious elements. This polk in the idea of the organization, had to serve the centre of the uprising, around witch where build our other strenght...
