Summit Leadership Initiative is a not for profit organization that collaborates with educational, business, public and faith based organizations to facilitate leadership, diversity and mentoring programs for middle and high school students. SLI's core program, Rising Stars, is a proven, evidenced based process that helps today's young people develop their personal leadership, individual character and job readiness skills.
Rising Stars is based on the a process that works with students to develop attitudes (the want to), interpersonal skills (the how to), and goals (the what and why to that will lead to positive behavior changes resulting in personal achievement and success in both the short and long term life of a student..
Summit Leadership Initiative was founded by Tom Schweizer and a group of concerned citizens in 2008 after a pilot project at Central Catholic Academy in St. Louis. Its board of directors include St. Louis area community leaders, as well as nationally recognize experts in the field of leadership development.
SLI programs are based on the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets - positive experiences and qualities that help influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults.
