The name "Tristram" ist derived from the Tristram Shandy paradox as seen by Sir Karl Popper. Tristram Shandy - by writing his history of life - would never be able to finish this story, because his last act of writing: that he is writing his history of life could never be included in his actual writing. Popper identifies this problem as the problem of a mechanism/machine, that will never be able completely to monitor their own states. This is an analogy to the problem of indeterminism in quantum theory.[1]
