Catlick Records is an American independent record label and recording studio founded in 1987 and based in Minneapolis, MN. In 2009, the label established an additional office in Seattle, WA.
Catlick Records specializes in indie rock, focusing on classic and modern variations of punk rock, including bands with New Wave, ska and shoegaze influences. The label began with a focus on regional bands, but in recent years Catlick's catalog expanded to an international group of musicians, signing bands from Europe and Asia.
Catlick Records' bands have toured the United States, Japan, Korea and Europe. Label bands have also performed on the international festival circuit, including SXSW, Summerfest (billed as "The World's Largest Music Festival"), Toronto's NXNE and UK's Truck Festival.
Bands currently signed to Catlick Records have received international indie and mainstream critical acclaim. The Spectaculars' song "Mista Ambarosia" was featured in the 2009 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment indie film "Center Stage: Turn It Up." SPIN Magazine named The Spectaculars' single "A Girl Like You" (2009) as "one to watch," and the band was also nominated for two 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards: "Video of the Year" and "Record of the Year." In 2010, Arkady's song "Europa" will be included in the Rock Band video game.
