893 Naval Air Squadron new article content ... During the late sixties,893 NAS was stationed at RNAS Yeovilton (HMS Heron)as a Naval Front Line Squadron flying De Havilland Sea Vixen's FAW Mk2. Prior to the decommisioning of the aircraft carrier HMS Victorious the quadron was assingned to her for sea operations. During the period 1969-70 the Squadron was assigned to the carrier HMS Hermes,this was to be the last fixed wing commission of the Hermes. The squadron was decommisioned a short time after returning to Yeovilton.Trafalgar223 (talk) 09:48, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
