Underwater hockey has been played in China since 2011. As of January 2014 China has 4 teams: Shanghai, Chengdu, Beijing, and Dilaian.
History
[edit]Underwater hockey has been played in China since 2011. Its introduction is attributed to 2 team members who brought the sport from other countries: Alice from Singapore and Jaime from Columbia.

Shanghai Azures
[edit]The first UWH team in China, established 26-June-2011[1]. Mascot is the Azure Dragon. This is an active team plays 2-3 evenings per week. Roughly 100 team members, with a core of 20 regulars. Mostly formed from the expat community, the team has representation from China, Columbia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Poland, Singapore, UK, and USA. The dominate spoken language among the members is English. This team has many people who enjoy travel, and so have a tendency to form trips to play against other teams in remote cites. The team always welcomes new players to enjoy the sport. The team is sponsored by Epsilon, a marketing company that helps enable brands to outperform their competition in Asia markets.

Chengdu
[edit]The second largest China team. The team plays early morning hours most weekends. Composed of mostly Chinese nationals, this is a fully home grown team.
Beijing
[edit]The youngest China team, started in January 2014 after several members of the Shanghai and Chengdu teams moved to Beijing.
Dilian
[edit]Little is known about this team. It plays in one of the college campus in Dilian China.
Domestic competition
[edit]2013 Shanghai Azures won vs Chengdu 5:4[3]
International competition
[edit]China participated in the 5th Asian Underwater Hockey Championships(AUHC), hosted in Manila Philippines in 2013.[4]
