INTRODUCTION
[edit]This article is a resarched of the students of Ms.Jennyleigh A. Mangubat a guest lecturer. Community study of the sociology students of Bukidnon State College. Barangay Cananga-an is one of the uncivilized rural area of Municipality of Cabanglasan. The hefty rocky road is about 11 kilometers from Poblacion. The situation of the area is very hazardous, only motorcycle or “habal-habal” can transport aside from a domestic animals for transportation. Two hanging bridges are only bridges that link in order to pass the Muleta River. Mostly of the dwellers are farmers and poor. Most of them are indigent people like Umayamnon, one of the 8 riches tribe of Bukidnon and some of them are Talaandig. Other races who occupy the place are Cebuano, Boholano, and other races from Visayas. There are many problems that the barangay has and it should be develop. Our group decided to study barangay Cananga-an in order to know deep their barrio affiliation, problems, and concern. Also, we need to study what are the profiles, values, activities, ecological frame, development, and progress as a community. All this concern will be sought in the next content of this research.
COMMUNITY IDENTIFICATION
[edit]As the group reached the area where we conducted the ethnographic study, many impressions are uttered from us. Some of them are expected that the land can easily reach and not rocky mountain. Many of them are shock because of unexpected looks. The area is too large for the dwellers and they are rare to occupy the land. Their houses are expected to be set apart. It is very difficult to live this rural area. It is a critical place because of its terrain types is hilly and mountainous but it is beautiful mountain because of the view that everybody gets relax. We are expecting that the road going to the area is concrete or a kind of not so hazardous, but it is difficult to walk because of muddy, rocky and slippery road that we encounter. Most of the visitors like us afraid because of the humor that the rebels NPA are occupying the place. But when we arrived the area, the place is so peaceful and organized. The people of barangay Cananga-an is probably friendly and hospitable. The landmarks of the place are located at Sitio San Roque at southwest portion of the barangay and in boundary of Barangay Iba and Cananga-an in Northwest.

CONFLICTS and CONCERNS
[edit]The main problem of the barrio is their main road going to municipality. The road is rocky, muddy, watery, and slippery as we defined that even domestic transportation can’t easily transport. The reason why this problem is unsolved because of the government didn’t give any financial assistance for constructing the road. The barangay officials are always filing the resolution for honoring their problem as their main problem since the barangay began. But, until now the resolution are approved but the budget are not given. Every barangay is what we called incomplete in terms of facilities. Cananga-an as a barangay has various sets of problems that need to be sought, like their health center where all medicines must stock but as what we noticed, observed, and interviewed Mrs. Arsenia G. Ladica their Barangay Secretary that the building of Health center serves now as a shelter for a visitors like us. No medicines in the center where found.
