I am an amateur historian who have dedicated my life to studying Military History. I started at age 8-9, spending time almost every day after school, reading all I could find in the schools library. (Good start for a youngster, rather than hanging the streets doing drugs, right?) ;) Here I am almost 40 years later, with a personal library of well over 2000 military history books (ca 1600 is related to the American CIvil War) and 6-700 magazines plus around 223000 pages of digital material. Much of my book cllection is purchased on my many trips to the US.
I am interested in all aspects of military history, but my favorite topics are US military history, hence the American Civil War, WWII, Vietnam and also anything related to the US Marine Corps. As for my studies, I have since 1996 collected biographical info on Confederate artillery Captains/Battery commanders during the American Civil War, and if I can complete the rooster, it will be released as a book. Civil War Battle Flags is also a main study for me.
For European/Norwegian military history, my main study is Germanys invasion on Norway in 1940 and the related battles. I have published some articles in Norwegian magazines, one of them is listed on the bibliography section on this page. For almost two decades I been doing research on that topic, German tanks in the Norwegian campaign, and a book will be released within a few years through the Norwegian Defence Museum in Oslo. I also study Norways many wars with Sweeden in the 18th and 19th centuries.
As a personal note, I live alone on a farm in the woods of eastern Norway where I have two horses. Horses are my main hobby, and I am also a Civil War re-enactor. Previously, I have been a touring drummer and also had a stint as a local politician.
Wikipedia; I edit and create pages mostly about military history, but also editing pages about military firearms and vehicles/tanks. English is not my main language, so there might be som typos on the pages I create, but fortunately other wikipedians are quick to correct if there are spelling errors. I usually notice them myself though.
Between adding info on existing pages, I am currently creating pages about units from the Confederate Army.
Pages I made with all the info and correct sources:
Units of the Confederate Army:
23rd Alabama Battalion Sharpshooters
Barbour Alabama Light Artillery
Miscellanious pages:
Grasmo <-- where I live.
