Except for confidential messages, public (on-wiki) communication (through Example's talk page) is usually better.
Sending an email should automatically notifyExample of it. Example may not regularly check his or her email, so please patiently wait for a response.
The email is sent as plain text. Neither wikitext nor HTML will work.
A reply will be sent to your email address, not to anywhere on Wikipedia.
Every email sent with this form is recorded in a log, but the log does not identify the email's title or contents. CheckUsers can view that you have sent an email; only Wikimedia system administrators can view the recipient. Wikipedia makes no guarantee of confidentiality for messages sent by this system.
response: Custom text which replaces the sentence "{User} may not regularly check {his or her} email, so please patiently wait for a response." This parameter should contain information about how often you check your email and/or when a response should be expected.
prepend: Text which is prepended to the text (but is below the header).
append: Text which is appended to the text (and is after the small footer).
