Tim Hendrik Walter (born September 20, 1984 in Dortmund; better known as Herr Anwalt) is a German lawyer, specialist lawyer for family law in Germany, author and influencer.

Life

[edit]

Walter studied jurisprudence at the Ruhr University Bochum from 2006 to 2011 with a focus on criminal defense, criminology and juvenile criminal law and completed the state part after eight semesters with a free attempt. He then completed a legal traineeship at the Dortmund Regional Court, the Dortmund public prosecutor and the Unna Legal Office and offered private revision courses for studying jurisprudence. After taking his second state examination in 2014, he decided to become a lawyer in the chancery in December of the same year. In the same month he began training as a specialist lawyer for family law at the Hagen LAW School, which he successfully completed a year later in December 2015. His qualification as a specialist lawyer for family law in 2018 was the starting point for the notarial specialist examination in Berlin, which he passed in May 2020 and as a result was appointed notary in October 2020.[1]

Activities

[edit]

In addition to family law, his professional focus is on general civil law, inheritance law, land and real estate law, tenancy and condominium law, entertainment law and sales law. Walter is also a member of the professional associations Forum junge Anwaltschaft of the DAV, the Deutscher Anwaltverein itself and the Anwalts- und Notarverein Dortmund. In addition, as a member of DieRezensenten.de, he assesses specialist literature according to its suitability for practice and study.[1]

Media presence

[edit]

On November 16, 2019, he published his first video clip on the TikTok social networking service under the pseudonym Herr Anwalt.[2] Since then, he has primarily dealt with legal issues in these clips and addresses them to Generation Z, often making use of fictional characters and a role-playing game to illustrate these facts in a playful way.[3] In less than six months, it generated over a million followers on the same network and suddenly gained relevance.[4] A little later he came into contact with other influencers such as Julien Bam or Rewinside in August 2020.[5] Later on, on March 13, 2021, he was presented with the Verties Award in the Education category.[6][7] In 2021 he was ranked 4th among creators with German content based on views per post (1.3 million) and 6th place in the number of followers (3.7 million).[8]

Walter also played in the first season of the television show Das Internat, where he played the role of Ralf Furr as a businessman.[9]

[edit]

On October 19, 2021, his book #5MinutenJura: Recht einfach erklärt (English meaning: "5 minutes of law: jurisprudence simply explained") will be published as planned.[10]
