Ronald J. Pelias is Director of Graduate Studies, and a professor of performance studies and communication in the Department of Speech Communication at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is the author of Performance Studies: The Interpretation of Aesthetic Texts (1992), Writing Performance: Poeticizing the Researcher's Body (1999), and A Methodology of the Heart: Evoking Academic and Daily Life (2004) as well as over fifty academic journal articles and book chapters. Pelias is the first editor of the National Review Board of the Performance Studies Division of the National Communication Association.
