I've been reading Wikipedia for quite some time now, as well as providing minor edits on occasion (mostly picky grammar and spelling stuff). I have extremely eclectic interests, and mostly browse around Wikipedia until I find something interesting to me. Thought I'd finally get an account so I'm not making anonymous edits. I think I have a pretty good idea of the scholarly thrust of Wikipedia, if you will, but I'm not exactly completely adept at making actual edits (going to be using that cheatsheet a lot).
About me
[edit]Computer Science major from Wisconsin. I've been involved via the internet with radical left-libertarian scholarship and activism. I'm now a third-year student at a tech/professional school studying CS with an emphasis in networking and, especially, an interest in GNU/Linux.
Interests
[edit]In no particular order of importance (I'm probably most likely to edit articles vaguely having to do with these):
- Anarchism
- Rothbardian "Anarcho-capitalism" (a misnomer, in my overrated opinion)
- Agorism
- Revolutionary tactics
- Computers
- GNU/Linux & FOSS
- FOSS on Windows
- especially Virtualization, Compatibility and Interoperability
- Custom-built computers
- Security & Encryption
- Austrian Economics
- Music - too many likes to list
- TV & Film (but only good stuff, which is to say I don't like much)
- Lit
- Comedy
- Mitch Hedberg
- Jim Gaffigan
- Bob & Tom
- George Carlin
- Not Dane Cook or other talentless hack charlatans
- Angling (or Fishing as we call it where I'm from)
- The ethics of Intellectual Property
- Epistemology
- Gaming. Favorites include:
- Halo Series
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Bioware's Neverwinter Nights series
- especially SOU
- Skepticism
- Cryptozoology
- Ghosts/Paranormal
- I'm a big fan of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International as a skeptic
- Alien Abduction
- New Age Spiritualism, Chakras, Astral Projection, and so forth
- Spontaneous Human Combustion, Stigmata, Chiromancy, Backmasking, and other stuff that may or may not be bunk
- think that's enough for now!
