TransVirtual Systems
[edit]TransVirtual Systems (TVS) is a privately-held Texas company founded in 2004 and specializing in virtualization of certain mainframe computer systems. In 2005 TVS signed a multi-year contract with Getronics (successor to Wang Global and Wang Laboratories, its North American components acquired in 2008 by Compcom) to bring to market a new generation of Wang VS using TVS virtualization technology. As of mid-2008 63 New VS systems had been sold and installed in ten countries.
TVS has offices in Cypress, Texas and staff in several other states.
Lightspeed NVS was established in 2004 with the acquisition of the Lightspeed NVS product line from Lightspeed Systems of Bakersfield, California. The Lightspeed NVS product provides the principal form of PC connectivity for Wang VS computer systems, widely adopted by the Wang VS user community through the 1990s. Lightspeed NVS is also based in Texas and is now a division of TVS.
The New VS
[edit]The New VS virtualization of the Wang VS machine is the principle product of TVS. It passes all the validation tests used by Wang/Getronics to verify new legacy VS CPUs through the years. It was designed to be seamlessly compatible with VS software and runs the VS Operating System, all language compilers and interpreters, all utilities, and all application software without modification.
