My pride and joy; my gallery at the commons.

"I sometimes have a queer feeling with regard to you—especially when you are near me, as now: it is as if I had a string somewhere under my left ribs, tightly and inextricably knotted to a similar string situated in the corresponding quarter of your little frame. And if that boisterous Channel, and two hundred miles or so of land come broad between us, I am afraid that cord of communion will be snapt; and then I've a nervous notion I should take to bleeding inwardly. As for you,—you'd forget me."

Phaleristics
[edit]These are my father's decorations from 25 years in the Navy. This is here for that, and as a markup reference for me when adding ribbon racks for articles. Adding certain accoutrements can be especially challenging (for example, the stars on the SSBN Deterrent Patrol insignia), and I suspect this is the cause of the deficits that exist in many relevant articles. I will probably make a more elaborate subpage for this later.
On the topic of phaleristics (Chrome doesn't even realize that is a word), my favorite uniform is the Navy Service Dress Blues and my favorite decorations are the Distinguished Flying Cross (United States) and Navy Cross. Such a complex backstory and history to the former. I love pretty much any kind of polar medal too. In terms of foreign decorations, the Waterloo Medal and the Canadian Forces' Decoration are up there for me as well.

Charlotte Brontê

"How dare I, Mrs Reed? How dare I? Because it is the truth."
-
I was mortally afraid of its trampling fore-feet.
-
During all that time, she never turned a page.
-
She did not stoop towards me, but only gazed, leaning back in her chair.
-
It removed my veil from its gaunt head, rent it in two parts, and, flinging both on the floor, trampled on them.
-
I said my evening prayers.
-
"Will you give me that?" I asked
-
"Hush, Hannah! I have a word to say to the woman."
-
"Poor Carlo loves me" He is not stern and distant to his friends.
-
"And I am a hard woman - impossible to put off"
-
...threw himself down on a swell of heath, and there lay still.
-
The next minute she lay smashed on the pavement.
-
"You are altogether a human being, Jane? You are certain of that?"
-
"And have you a pale blue dress on?"
