APPLICATION OF STATISTICS IN PSYCHOLOGY I. To organize data – allows psychologists to present data in ways that are easier to understand. Graphs, pie charts and frequency distributions gives researchers a better outline of data. II. To describe data – describing data lays out a way to summarize facts based on several factors. Descriptive statistics helps the researches to summarize data from the information they’ve collected. III. To make inferences based upon the data – by inferential statistics, researchers can conclude a given sample or population. Psychologists use the data they’ve collected to predict a hypothesis and draw conclusions using statistical analysis.
