User:Thisisaaronfox/Glyphosate-based herbicides
The lethal dose of different glyphosate-based formulations varies, especially with respect to the surfactants used. This LC50 is in rates grater than 4.43 mg/L was could seem like a great amount but it is not.[1] Formulations intended for terrestrial use that include the surfactant polyethoxylated tallow amine (POEA) can be more toxic than other formulations for aquatic species.[2][3] Due to the variety in available formulations, including five different glyphosate salts and different combinations of inert ingredients, it is difficult to determine how much surfactants contribute to the overall toxicity of each formulation.[4][5] Independent scientific reviews and regulatory agencies have regularly concluded that glyphosate-based herbicides do not lead to a significant risk for human or environmental health when the product label is properly followed.[6] Glyphosate on its own is not all that toxic but its the other ingredient that can be found in these products that are the problem. by it self glyphosate may cause for eye or skin irritation and be very harmful by the facts some organism can not live with these things.[7]
