K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Taipei - Asia GP - was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It took place on Sunday July 13, 2008 at the Taipei World Trade Center in Taipei City, Taiwan. It was the fourth official K-1 World GP held in 2008, featuring the classic eight-man elimination tournament, winner advancing to K-1 World GP 2008 Final 16 in Seoul, Korea and three Superfights[1]
The K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Taipei an estimated 10,000 to the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and was broadcast live in Japan on the TBS network and in South Korea on the CJ Media Network.[2]
After the show Remy Bonjasky was voted as the MVP of the event.[3]

- Pitchkounov defeated Hayashi by an Extra Round Unanimous Decision 3-0 (10-9, 10-9, 10-9). After 3 rounds, the judges had scored it a Majority Draw 1-0 (30-30, 30-30, 30-28) in favour of Pitchkounov.
- Makoto Uehara def. Yong Soo Park
- Uehara defeated Park by KO (Left Hook) at 1:25 of the Extra Round. After 3 rounds the judges had scored it a Decision Draw 0-0 (29-29, 29-29, 29-29). However, due to injury Uehara had to withdraw from the tournament - Reserve Fight winner Vaughn Anderson would take his place in the Semi Finals.

- Bonjasky defeated Atajev by KO (Flying Knee Strike) at 0:33 of the 3rd Round.
Notes
[edit]Before the second semi final, it was announced that due to a broken orbital bone suffered in his first bout, Makoto Uehara could not continue and under the K-1 rules, the winner of the reserve fight, Vaughn Anderson entered the tournament to face Aleksandr Pitchkounov.[2]
