Julien, ou la vie du poète (Julien, or The Poet's Life) is an operatic poème lyrique in a prologue and four acts by Gustave Charpentier to his own French libretto. The opera premiered on June 4 1914 at the Opéra-Comique in Paris.[1]
The opera is a sequel to the composer's own Louise. The French soprano Marguerite Carré portrayed Louise in the first performance. The opera was largely unsuccessful; after receiving two productions in 1914, it was never revived.
