Monica's Bridal Monica's Bridal is an independently owned bridal shop based in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, New York. Owned and operated by Liliana and David Nikchemny since 1987, this 11,000sq. ft. building features an exclusive national and international array of wedding gowns, dresses for mothers, bridesmaids, and guests. They carry a magnificent variety in top designer bridal brands and are working diligently to form their own named MBridal Private Label.
Early History Monica's Bridal came to be as a restoration of their first clothing store attempt Piazza Elegante that had fallen victim to the 1987 stock market crash. With Liliana pregnant at the time with her second child, it was decided by the couple to rename the store to Monica’s Bridal as a tribute to her expected baby girl. The bridal shop gained notoriety throughout the years due to the unparalleled talents of Liliana's customizations to gowns and the pride the couple took in maintaining a sophisticated presence in their store. 20 years later, the couple was ready to expand and add a grander selection and offer a more luxurious experience. On that same street on Sheepshead Bay Road, they purchased a 11,000 sq. ft. building to set up shop. At that time, David owned a successful construction company that is still in operation. With his skills in general construction, he built the Monica's Bridal interior and the family had a grand opening on December 16th, 2008. Their selection expanded to include top designer brands such as: Allure, Allure Couture, Pronovias, San Patrick, Elie Saab, Ysa Makino, Maggie Sottero, Justin Alexander, Justin Alexander Couture, Enzoani, Enzoani Blue, Casablanca, Casablanca Couture, Joavni, Mac Duggal Couture, Mandalay and many more!
Present History Over 30 years in operation, the store has become a highly distinguished name in the Brooklyn community. The store has the presence of a castle among it's much smaller neighboring businesses on Sheepshead Bay Road. The front of the 11,000sq. ft boutique are four windows that display their latest high end evening and wedding gowns. A beautiful chandelier and friendly receptionist dignify the clean lobby, which is typically decorated for holiday seasons. Monica's bridal has a mission to provide brides with unparalleled service and a customized experience. Every customer is greeted with a small bottle water and mint; most people exclaim that they are treated as royalty when they first enter the door.
“Not only do they have a beautiful selection but the workers are so friendly and take care of your needs. It was a very nice experience and I highly recommend brides to go!”
