The conclusion of the League is marked as the conclusion of the Ottoman threat to Christian Europe. [1]

The unsuccessful attempt of the Ottoman Empire to make peace with the League in 1689. [2]

It presents a view that the war in Europe against the Ottomans had little to do with religion, and that a Christian defence against an Islamic threat was merely the pretence that a territorial Holy League was formed upon. [3]

As a European vassal state of the Ottoman Empire, Moldovia played a crucial role in the diplomatic relations with the League, and was ultimately retaken by them. [4]

I have created a PNG, which is a map of Europe, showing the founding member of the Holy League in 1684. This is also how I will describe the file. It was drawn by me, starting with a blank map that can be found here [6]. It is thus a derivative work, however the artist has given permission for use, allowing for it to be used on Wikipedia. The image will be given an Attribution-ShareAlike license. It will be added to the "1684 Maps" category.
