User:Theonesean/sandbox/AfC Mentoring/Introduction/Overview of Course
First of all, thanks for being here on Wikipedia. I know, and your mentor knows, and everyone else knows that you are bound for great things. You're here for any number of reasons, but no matter why you're doing what you're doing, you're doing well. This course is going to prepare you to work in many capacities within the Articles for Creation WikiProject.
The Program
[edit]The program consists of a series of lessons on AfC reviewing and general AfC/Wikipedia culture. You have already been matched with a mentor, who will be your guide through this course and someone you can always ask for advice. The lesson themselves will mainly consist of sample articles for you to review, and then a series of articles explaining why each particular article would have been accepted or declined. Also included are overviews of WikiProject AfC, the AfC script, and reviewing redirects, files for upload, and templates.
Timeframe
[edit]Depending on your speed and abilities and those of your mentor, you should be able to complete the course in anywhere from three days to two weeks. The most important this is not to rush through the course. The purpose of the course is to prepare you to review articles, not to finish the course. It may very well take you three weeks to finish the course. That's fine. As long as you feel you are capable of reviewing articles.
