Richard [Rick] Beerhorst born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States, is established in the Art Market as an internationally renowned artist. His work explores the relationship between the muse and their interaction with the animals, birds or insects that feature within his paintings. His highly prized and notable back catalogue of work has graced exhibitions, museums and sizeable collections across Europe and the United States.
Style of Art

Symbolisms within Beerhorst's paintings
[edit]The symbolism that Beerhorst has embraced and that has graced his back catalogue include birds such as Rooks, Doves and Hummingbirds; butterflies and other insects including snails, that cover either one or both of the eyes of his muse's face. The symbolism that reflects within his work, references the delicate fragility of youth in comparison to the delicate fragility of the birds and insects that also feature.

Through family connections, Beerhorst conversed with Basquiat, through telephone communications, where Basquiat recognized the significance of Beerhorst's work within the contemporary Art world.
