Introductions
[edit]Coach
[edit]Let's start with introductions. About me: I'm a woman, somewhere between "young" and "middle-aged". I started editing in February 2006 and became an admin in October 2006. I like a lot of variety in my editing, and I do a lot of different things: article-building, new article creation, speedy deletions, vandal patrol, etc. I have never been particularly active at AfD, so that's one area I don't have any special expertise. Most of the articles I work on are related to fish (not fishing) and other creatures or, more recently, medicine. There are also some articles on local topics and on law enforcement in there. In short, I'm a pretty eclectic contributor. How about you? --Ginkgo100talk 13:43, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Coachee
[edit]Sorry for the time it took me to reply, I never checked up on this page again! In my editing, I tend not to have a huge number of mainspace edits, which is probably now my main problem, but I enjoy editing my User: page and tending to WikiProject Fishing, which I helped start. I'm trying to expand more into cfd's ect, where I may get 'noticed' a bit more. I enjoy working with computers, and regard myself as quite a bright mathematician.

Discussion
[edit]- I like the term "coachee" better than "student". Try watchlisting this page so you know whenever I comment here. I think your big liability is a lack of experience. Let me ask this question: What do you see yourself doing as an admin? --Ginkgo100talk 03:03, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- I see from your contribs that you have very little experience with XfDs. I think what you need to focus on is (1) mainspace participation, hopefully including at least some article-building (many !voters at RfA like to see this), and (2) participation in the areas where you would like to participate as an admin. These are your first steps. Many RfA contributors have "editcountitis" and will want to see the numbers go up; others like me look for quality of edits. You need to work on both. --Ginkgo100talk 17:14, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

I have started to participate more in xfd's recently, although i have been busy outside of wikipedia, which is why my contributions have suffered. themcman1 talk 14:31, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
