Appearance
This is a subpage describing what qualifications I think an RfA candidate must have in order to succeed. Some may agree, others may disagree. I am open to suggestions for improvement, so feel free to send me a message if you see anything that I could improve on.
In order to earn my support, an RfA candidate must:
- Have no warnings for vandalism within the past year;
- Know all of Wikipedia's core policies;
- Have no civility problems within the past six months;
- Have experience in administrator-related areas, such as WP:AIV, WP:RPP, WP:AFD, etc.
- Have no record of engaging in an edit war within the past year;
- Have at least six months of experience;
- Be able to abide by Wikipedia's policies;
- Not run for adminship within three-six months of failing;
- Understand basic wikimarkup;
- Be able to do maintenance tasks;
- Be mature;
- Not argue with opposers (agreeing to disagree is fine);
- Use edit summaries for at least 70% of both major and minor edits;
- Have at least 30% of their edits be to the article namespace;
- Not have over 30% of their edits be to their user namespace;
- Know how to deal with stressful situations in a civilized way;
- Demonstrate knowledge of policy with their answers to the optional questions;
- Have written at least three articles (not including stubs);
- Demonstrate the ability to establish consensus and;
- Not have been reported to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents or Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts within the past year.
