User:ThePersonOfStuff

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ThePersonOfStuff is a user who's main goal is to edit Wikipedia articles so that if the first link not italicized or in parenthesis on an article is clicked, and this process is then repeated on the article reached, the article for Philosophy will always be reached. This was inspired by the alt-text of the webcomic Xkcd by Randall Munroe. This is already true for the majority of articles, so ThePersonOfStuff has created a program using Python to follow a chain of links until it reaches either philosophy or an infinite loop. If an infinite loop is reached, ThePersonOfStuff will attempt to edit the page. Some looped pages are protected such that I cannot edit them. Some examples include a loop between Donald Trump and Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign, as well as a three-article loop between Marketing, Advertising campaign (which is not protected, but not easily editable so the loop is broken either), and Advertising. ThePersonOfStuff plans to improve their program so that it can find new links to test on its own as opposed to needing to enter articles for it to test .
