Since late 2003, I have been somewhat active in the german Wikipedia. I have also made some minor additions for the english Wikipedia, at first without bothering to create an actual account. Of course, at a certain point this became prohibited, so here I am. Despite the recent problems of Wikipedia - delete-wars and rampaging admins, among other things -, I still believe everything's not lost.
I have majored in theoretical physics, particularly QFT. My Minor was Computer Science (computer graphics). I also have a keen interest in complex systems from the point of view of computational physics. I have some experience in stochastic methods (e.g., Monte Carlo method), especially with regard to applications in socio- and econophysics.
Nowadays, I changed my focus towards computational neuroscience, where I'm using concepts from statistical physics to research the human brain -- which is also a wonderful example of a complex system.
I am an active member of the Open Source/Free Software[1] movement, running GNU/Linux wherever possible. As a side-effect, I have become interested in Software Patents. I am always eager to learn new languages, and have through this become fascinated by Linguistics.
