My name is Justin Munoz. I graduated from Cape Fear High School in June 2020, and am a current student at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Philosophy.

On Wikipedia, I focus mostly on articles under WikiProject Schools, and occasionally work on political pages. I will generally be inactive during the school year.

I will also be mostly inactive for the first part, if not all of this summer (2023).

Before Wikipedia

CCThis user has baked 5.594 quintillion cookies.

This user has been on Wikipedia for 5 years, 10 months and 23 days.

When I was a sophomore in high school, I created the Cookie Clickers 2 wiki on FANDOM. There isn't that much to write about the game for obvious reasons, but I thought it'd be kinda cool to create a game on a somewhat well-known game. I completed the project in about 1.5 years, but my wiki editing started getting me interesting in Wikipedia editing. I created my account on December 13, 2018, and made my first edit on January 18, 2019. I started editing the PewDiePie vs T-Series article while the sub-gap war thing was going on.

After PewDiePie called off the T-Series meme, I became mostly inactive on Wikipedia for quite some time between April 2019–April 2020. With all the extra time during the pandemic, I decided it'd be a good idea to get back into editing (though it wasn't exactly "getting back" into editing considering I barely made over 50 edits before 2020), and started actively editing on April 17, 2020. I started editing high schools because I figured it would be the easiest to edit, and I continue to edit these articles for a similar reason, it is relatively easy to edit them in breadth, and I would like to edit Wikipedia in breadth.

Goals and stuff

[edit]

My main goal on Wikipedia is improving as many U.S. school articles as possible; I regularly edit infobox fields and make easy-to-make edits to the body of the article. I am currently trying to improve the articles of just about every school in the United States; this may never happen, but I'd like to get as close as possible to making this systemic impact in school articles. My goal is to avoid depth when possible, and focus on a large breadth of articles, though my edits are more in depth if there's glaring issue(s) or concerning issue(s) in an article.

To find articles I edit, I'm using the "List of high schools in [insert state]" pages, so my editing will have gaps to the extent the lists do. Currently, I am focusing on high schools.

I sometimes build on the Cape Fear High School article when I can.

Current progress

[edit]
This editor is a Tutnum of the Encyclopedia and is entitled to display this Book of Knowledge with Coffee Cup Stain, Cigarette Burn, and Chewed Broken Pencil.

With North Carolina and South Carolina, I have paid attention to a lot of details and made more meticulous edits, but currently, I decided to make more simple changes so that I can make some very basic and/or fundamental changes to infoboxes (e.g., School colors, address formatting, valid website link, proper usage of fields) and body (e.g., unreferenced material, improper usage of primary sources, External links section), rather than more detailed changes (i.e., being meticulous, particularly about details in the body of the article).

Currently, I am focusing on high school articles. The following lists are the extent to which I have reviewed school articles. Any state listed is one where I have gone through all of the state's school articles listed on the respective "List of high schools in [state]" Wikipedia list, as well as lists for District of Columbia and US Territories:

States I have gone through (11 of 52): Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, District of Columbia, US Territories

State(s) I am currently focusing on: Georgia

If you have identified anything about my edits that is undesired or that goes against policies/guidelines, please let me know. Since I edit in breadth, I edit a whole lot of articles; since I do similar edits to each school article, any error I make—while it may not be the most significant of errors on an individual level—may be widespread, potentially affecting thousands of articles in the same particular manner.

Other school stuff

[edit]

Currently, I am using InternetArchiveBot, submitting requests to check all pages under the 50 "High schools in [state]" categories, as well as the "High schools in Washington, D.C.", "Schools in insular areas of the United States", and "American international schools" categories. This includes pages that are less related to education, such as alumni or sports leagues. I have currently used InternetArchiveBot on 12 of 53 US state/American territory/DC categories.

Other school stuff I am working on: N/A

Other

[edit]

Aside from school-related articles, I have also made significant contributions to the COVID-19 section of Veracity of statements by Donald Trump and the Innersloth AfD. On Donald Trump's page, the only paragraph mentioning the Bob Woodward interviews originates from my addition. I created the color scheme for the Democracy Index page so that the article uses distinctive colors for all forms of color blindness, including monochromatic color blindness.

Non-school related things I'm currently working on: N/A

Things I might work on in the future

[edit]
  • Make as many North Carolina high school articles Start-class quality (or higher) as possible, there's way too many stub school articles. Might also start RfDs for school articles
  • Focus on elementary, middle, and post-secondary American school articles
  • Do some stuff for WikiProject Spoken Wikipedia, I think widespread, systemic availability of recordings of Wikipedia is a moderately valuable thing

Wordle fandom

[edit]

I am the creator of the Wordle wiki, feel free to check it out at wordle.fandom.com, and maybe even consider contributing!

Disclaimer

[edit]

I do not work for GEICO, am not associated with GEICO, and am in no way sponsored by GEICO. My username refers to a car insurance company in the same way one would make a username referring to any other object, person, or idea, and I have decided to make a username referring to GEICO.

To avoid any controversy concerning my username, I will abstain from editing, adding, or otherwise directly interacting with any articles relating to car insurance.

Userboxes

[edit]

Note: There's a couple of userboxes about the number of edits I have made, but it's worth noting that a lot of these edits are either quite small or otherwise quick to make. As I've already stated, my goal is breadth to a much greater extent than depth.

Thank you very much for keeping Wikipedia free from unverifiable and unnecessary details, especially by cleaning up the often promotion-filled lists of "notable" people. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:07, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

Stats

[edit]

I ventured into my xtools.wmflabs.org page so you don't have to (last updated November 21):

  • Pages edited: 6663
  • Average edits per page: 2.99
  • Pages moved: 54, almost all because of WP:COMMONNAME
  • Main space pages created: 1, a disambiguation page. Also created a draft page, but forgot about it, my draft was deleted, someone else created the page I was trying to create
  • Templates created: 2, one was deleted, the other is useless and honestly probably has more reason to be deleted than the deleted template
  • Edits I've approved (pending changes): 30
  • Files uploaded: 1, which was deleted due to copyright violations. As you can see from these statistics, I sure am great at creating new pages, very successful at that
  • Thanks received to thanks given ratio: 3.75, wonder what that says about me as a person
  • Deleted edits: 75 (0.4%), wonder what that says about me as a Wikipedian
  • Edits outside of the English Wikipedia project: 48 (0.241%) – 31 Wikidata, 5 Commons Wikimedia, 5 Simple Wikipedia, 4 Mediawiki, 3 Wiktionary
  • Days I have been an administrator: 0, and it'll probably stay that way
  • Month with most edits: June 2022, 2924 edits
