I was born October 23rd, 2000. I've lived in Lake Stevens, Washington my whole life and I currently attend Lake Stevens High School. I am in the graduating class of 2019. One of my unique interests is woodworking. I became interested in this hobby because of my 6th grade shop teacher, Mr. Moll, at Lake Stevens Middle School. I often make live edge furniture from scratch. I mill the wood myself and let it dry in my home-made kiln, then after that I craft it into varying furniture. One of my biggest passions is lacrosse. I play lacrosse for the Snohomish lacrosse team. After college, I plan on going on a mission through my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My future goal is to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Some subjects I am interested in writing about on Wikipedia are woodworking, lacrosse, and orthopedic surgeons. I could picture myself writing about woodworking because I am very knowledgeable in the subject. I could also see myself writing about lacrosse because I want to learn more about the history of it. Lastly, I want to write about orthopedic surgeons in order to learn more about the job.

Article Critique

I have played basketball for many years and I have a fascination with basketball. With that in mind, I went to the basketball Wikipedia page. I was trying to see if there is anything I could critique, but the page was very well done. I was able to follow a link and visit the uncontested shot page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Citations, Age, and Completeness.

Citations

There is only one citation used on this page. Even though there is multiple facts about uncontested shots, they did not cite where the information came from. For example, they state that an "uncontested shot is one in which a defender is not within five feet of the shooter or one in which a defender is not near enough to alter the offensive player's shot in any way." (Wikipedia page, "Uncontested Shots") Because the information was not cited, the reliability of the facts is in question.

Age

The picture used is of Jason Kapono taking an uncontested mid-range jump shot. Jason retired in 2013. I think it would have resonated more if the example they gave was more recent, and of someone more widely recognized. For example they could have used a picture LaBron James shooting an uncontested shot.

Completeness

This page is extremely short. It is lacking information and examples. If they were able to elaborate in more depth, this page would be greatly improved. I think if they gave examples it would help the reader understand what a uncontested shot is .

Summary

Overall this page is pretty good, but it could be improved upon. The information they have is relevant, but there needs to be more details. They did not cite all the information, so there is no way to verify it. The page is a bit out of date, and could be updated to make it more appealing to readers. If they were able to resolve these issues this page would be greatly improved.
