Artist statement
- As I walk in the streets of Pretoria, I often encounter waste pickers along the way, pulling their trolleys loaded with their recyclables.
- They do hard job for little money.
- I'm inspired by their hard work.
- My artworks inspires people to work hard no matter how hard things are, Because we are living in a dystopia society.
- Also bring back unforgettable hard times memories to those who have gone through a lot until they reach out where they are today.
- My work also represent socio political issue; We tend to reject hard times memories because we’ve learned that they’re not good for us. They make us feel bad, they make us sad, But the truth is that they’re much more positive than we think.
- My mediums are oil and acrylic on canvas.
