Joana Acevedo Born Juanita Acevedo, September 27, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois. Joana was one of the main singers in the 1983 Spanish all girl group "Las Munecas" (The Dolls). Joana, together with Mercedes Acevedo, Yvette Serrano and Yoly Castro performed throughout the U.S. List under such groups as Los Chicos, Los Chamos and Menudo. After 2 years the group dismembered. In 1989, Joana joined American girl group "Just Us Girls" with Mercie Acevedo, Nitzy Perez, Renee Michalski and Cynthia Grimaldo. After the release of their only song "Time", a few performances and member changes in the group, this group dismembered. Joana was then recruited to be a VJ on Mexican video show MusicaVirtualTV. Joana being the more popular member of these groups retired from music and now works as an Animal Control Officer.
