PROsport is a men's magazine, published in Russian Federation by Independent Sport Publishing house. The first issue was launched in 2003. Since 2004 the magazine is published biweekly on Mondays. Editors-at-large are Vasily Utkin, Roman Trushechkin, Pavel Lysenkov.
History
[edit]The idea of a sports monthly magazine belonged to the media mogul Derk Sauer, the ex-owner of Sanoma Independent Media, a big fan of ice-skating and football. In summer 2003 Independent sport publishing house was established. Independent Media held 50% of its shares and Prof-Media held the other half. Konstantin Kleshev was appointed editor in chief. The first issue was launched in September 2003 with Russian football player Dmitry Sychev on its cover.
In February 2004 the board of management decided to change the editorial office. Stanislav Gridasov became editor in chief, Igor Poroshin was named managing editor and Vasiliy Dmitriev became CEO. Since 2004 the magazine is published biweekly on Mondays.
In the end of 2004 Independent Media bought all the shares from Prof-Media and became the sole owner of the Independent Sport shares. In 2005 Independent Sport became an independent company with all the rights for PROsport magazine.
Articles that appeared in PROsport include exclusive interviews with Ronaldinho, Paolo Maldini, David Beckham, Jose Mourinho, Marcello Lippi, Luiz Felipe Scolari, Guus Hiddink, Zico, Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba, Mickael Essien, Andrey Shevchenko, David Blatt, Ettore Messina, Andrey Kirilenko, Nickolas Bolletieri, Marat Safin, Rafael Nadal, Alexander Ovechkin, Evegeny Malkin, Ilya Kovalchuk and the others.
PROsport Business

PROsport Club
[edit]The club for top sport managers and professionals. It is a networking platform for discussions, knowledge exchange, experience and ideas. The format combines short speaker presentations with Q&A opportunities, followed by networking sessions.
Among the Club's members are the owners of Russian sports clubs, top executives of national sports leagues and federations, organizational committees of Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup 2018, all national championships, World Student Games 2013 in Kazan, as well as editors and managers of sports media.
PROsport Conference
[edit]Annual Professional PROsport Conference was held in Moscow on November 1. The main agenda topics were sponsorship, audience involvement and management, brand building, sporting event management, digital and merchandising. Among the experts and guests of the Conference were Nikolay Tolstykh (the head of Russian Football Federation), John Beattie (Stadium and Facilities Director at Arsenal FC), Steve Cumming (Head of Sponsorship at Chelsea FС), Meinolf Sprink (Head of Communications department at Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Ilya Kochevrin (KHL Commerce and Communications Vice-President), Eugeniy Giner (CSKA President), Andrey Vatutin (General Manager of CSKA Basketball Club), Andrey Peregudov (Chairman of the Board of CJSC VTB Arena), Dmitry Mankin (Commercial Director of Zenit FC), Misha Sher (MediaCom Sport Director of Partnerships & Brands), Daniel Lourie (Editor in Chief of Zenit FC media), Vasily Utkin (Editor in Chief of NTV plus sports TV Channels). The next PROsport Conference will take place in October, 2013
PROsport Park
[edit]The summer open-air of sports and music that combines professional and street sports. It's been held once a year since 2011 in Gorky Park, Moscow. The festival features open-participation sports events, such as street football, basketball, arm wrestling, ping pong, frisbee, badminton, yoga classes etc. The events are held at the pre-defined locations throughout the Park during the day, culminating in an evening music by famous bands on the embankment of Moscow River.
