Intro
[edit]I only joined to leave a comment, and got sucked up into a vortex of highly charged emotions. There were sirens wailing, some guys screaming blue murder, throwing tantrums, comments popping up like mushrooms on a dark and sh--ty day, but I also met some really nice and sensible people. Within a couple of hours, and still reeling from shock, I very nearly committed to editing an article. I'm still thinking about it.
Wikipedia Talk pages are quite an experience. Reminds me of one of the first computer adventure games I, or anyone else, ever played (on one of the first "microcomputers", twice the size of my 'executive' desk, plain text on a tiny 25x80 green ASCII screen), which was so addictive I nearly lost my job! In this adventure game, if you entered the wrong room, and didn't own a helmet, a Dwarf with an axe jumped on you from a dark corner and walloped you on the head - "end of game, do you want to play again?" Oh yes. Just like a Wikipedia Talk page...

Six Months Later...
[edit]After the awful experience on Malaysia_Airlines_Flight_17 Talk page trying to get consensus in epic edit wars and not making a single article edit, I've reverted to type (tennis fan). Today I actually made my very first edit on a tennis article (Djokovic–Federer_rivalry) and if the world doesn't come crashing down after my daring action, I may try and edit another Wikipedia article or two in due course ...
