   In this case, the user concerned is much more sensitive to be affected by this kind of vandalism, which does not look likely to stop. There is sufficient vandalism, and sufficient cause, because I seriously suspect this could very adversely affect the user under question if not protected.    I will leave the decision to another admin; for me there is nothing particularly problematic here. If it is the same IP, he will be blocked (again). Protection is too heavy handed here, when dealing with one perpetrator. And keep in mind that it would keep well meaning editors from editing the talk page too.    Yes, I have seen all that...as I said: I will leave the decision to another admin. All I can say is: when editing Wikipedia you are bound to come across something like that, and we can not shield everybody from that perpetually.    Note: There have been a couple personal attacks by this shared IP against this user as well as User:Moxy; however, I believe based on my understanding of it, that PC1 protection may be enough to protect this user's slightly more sensitive nature to these kinds of attacks.    No I do not think you are too dumb to find it. Although none of the PC documentation pages mentions namespace restrictions, viewing the namespace drop-down on Special:StablePages reveals that PC seems to be only available on "(article)" and "Wikipedia" leaving me no other option than to support a request for a temporary 3-day semi-protection of the user talk page as was originally proposed. I've explained to Miss Bono the unfortunate side-effect that no IP editors will be able to leave her messages there even if there is a genuine and legitimate message for her. If this short term semi-protection was to be granted, I would be willing to help her set-up a sub-page for IPs to be able to leave her messages and/or a note in her edit-notice offering them some other agreeable method to communicate. Mind that this still goes very much against my wikiethics, so to speak, and I do not want to set a precedent here. It is rather against the policy, imho. But I think after my replies most admins would have stayed away anyway. And after the protection expires, the same problem will present itself. I am almost sure that virtually no admin will implement permanent semi-protection on user-talkpages.
