Jane Goodall is famous for her years spent living with the chimpanzees of Tanzania. In 1960, she traveled to Tanzania to begin her study of wild chimpanzees. She spent countless hours, studying these chimpanzee's every move, becoming as stealthy as a shadow. She made important discoveries about primate behavior that continue to shape the scientific world. Her research spent in Tanzania surprised nobody. From an early age she showed great interest in animals. She would spend any free time she had, sketching the animals and birds she saw in her home city of London. She would also read intensely in zoology.
