My name is Terrill Bouricius. I was born in 1954. I live in Burlington, Vermont with my wife and two children. The focus of my work over the past decade has been election reform. I have a degree in Political Science from Middlebury College, and have given numerous lectures and written many articles on a variety of election reform issues. I served as a City Councilor in Burlington, VT from 1981-1991, including one term as president of the City Council, and from 1991-2001 as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, one of only a handful of third party elected State Representatives in the country.
Much of my election reform work has revolved around my membership in the League of Women Voters of Vermont, where I am active and was formerly on the state board of directors (the League has accepted male members for years). My reform work has included such issues as public campaign financing, instant runoff voting, proportional representation, redistricting, and immigrant voting rights. I have done election reform consulting for Election Solutions, and FairVote: the Center for Voting and Democracy. I have also administered elections for nonprofits, including such large membership organizations as the Pacifica Foundation and the Dartmouth Alumni Association.
