Microsoft Power Apps is an iPaaS platform by Microsoft for app creation as part of the Microsoft Power Platform. It can be used in a variety of ways such as chatbots, custom forms, unique data display, and data integration. It can be used with a variety of data sources as well. It is not limited to Office 365.
The apps created can be used in browser and mobile form. It can also be used as stand alone mobile app.
History
[edit]In 2015 Nov, Microsoft announced the PowerApps as an upcoming product. [1]
In 2016 April, Microsoft announced the public preview for PowerApps. [2]
In 2016 Oct, Microsoft PowerApps and [Microsoft Flow] became generally available. [3]
In 2015 May, Power Apps Ideas was announced. This allows users to program apps using natural language and AI assistance to develop the code needed for you. [4]
In 2021 Nov, Several announcements were made at Ignite. The introduction of a Pay-as-you-go model was announced for PowerApps was highlighted.[5] The ability to create mobile apps was also announced. [6]
In 2022 Sept, Microsoft made 3 big announcements. Cards for Power Apps will allow users to make low code interactive cards. Coauthoring in Power Apps to allow more than one user to work on an app. It works similar to editing office 365 documents. Maker matching was also announced. [7]
