Tattycoram
[edit]Hello! I am Tattycoram (aka June), and I am a Doctoral Researcher in Twentieth Century English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. To be more specific, I am writing my thesis on Anthony Powell's A Dance to the Music of Time series of novels, focussing on the concept of space and place, and the links between these novels and social history. My research interests are listed in the info-box opposite.
Activities
[edit]I am the Co-Founder of the Twentieth Century Research Group at the University of Edinburgh. This is a brand new interdisciplinary event which brings together students and academics from all specialties to showcase the very latest research in all things twentieth century, and to tell the world about it. I am also an author and reviewer for Inciting Sparks (https://incitingsparks.org/), a peer-reviewer for Forum postgraduate journal, and a PhD reader for the University's literary award, the James Tait Black Prize.
Outside of University activities, I enjoy reading (unsurprising!), walking, listening to music, arts and crafts, photography, and social media - particularly Facebook (my personal platform), Twitter (my more literary/professional platform), and Instagram (random daft photos).
I am a member of several literary societies including: The Anthony Powell Society, the British Association of Modernist Studies, The Dickens Society, The Dickens Fellowship, the British Association of Victorian Studies, and the International Gothic Association.
