Shalini Mahajan, known professionally as Shals Mahajan, is an Indian queer feminist and writer with LABIA - a Mumbai based LBT collective.
She is active figure in the world of queer literature and is the author of Timmi in Tangles, and has co-authored No Outlaws in the Gender Galaxy.[1] She is also involved with the underground zine Scripts, a journal run by LABIA to give voice to queer Indian women, since 1998.[2]
Timmi in Tangles
[edit]Timmi in Tangles is an experimental children's book that won the Kotak Junior Children writing award.[3] It depicts the quirky and imaginative life of Timmi and the trials she faces in her everyday life.
No Outlaws in the Gender Galaxy
[edit]Outlaws explorers the lives of people assigned the gender female at birth and retells the stories of several such individuals that faced the possibility of opposition and ostracism of society for their existence outside of gender norms, and the . It questions gender, its need and its all encompassing influence on our lives.
