Redirects only help wikipedia, and cause the project no harm. As such the more redirects in wikipedia, the better off wikipedia is. No matter how obscure the term, or how unlikely the searched title, having it sit there as a redirect hurts no one. Furthermore, having these redirects around can aid in navigation, and make mistakes less likely. They also serve as placeholders that can prevent unneeded articles from being created, by redirecting new users to the article they should be adding to, instead of recreating. As such in AfD almost every deleted article should redirect to an existing article to discourage recreation, and to handle any links from elsewhere to the article.
There is one exception to this rule, and that is redirects that are used as an attack or to degrade the subject of the article they are redirecting to. This does not apply to most redirects as very few disparage the subject, even if they have a view on it.
As such even GNAA should probably exist as a redirect to Troll (Internet)
