Shakers in the Dark is an indie dance band from London, England although all the members originally hail from towns in nearby Essex.
The music the band creates is noted for rhythms centred around house music’s ‘four to the floor’ beats and bass lines while maintaining a melodic song ethic that incorporates distorted guitars in the choruses.
Shakers in the Dark played their first gig supporting Future of the Left at Monto Water Rats’ New Years Eve party on December 31st 2008.
Shakers in the Dark is to record the first demo proper in April 2009 at White Room Recording Studios in Rainham, Essex. Their current demo recordings which appear on myspace were recording in late 2008 with a replacement drummer.
