Jessica Meade is the Behavioural Studies Unit administration assistant at Taronga Conservation Society Australia, in the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).
Background
Jessica’s PhD on pigeon navigation at Oxford University lead on to research work tracking Manx shearwaters foraging off Skomer Island in Wales (UK). Following this she held a post-doc position at the University of Sheffield investigating parental and alloparental care in the cooperatively breeding long-tailed tit. Jessica moved to Australia in 2012 to work at the Univeristy of New South Wales on a dataset of satellite tracked Leopard seals. Jessica currently works half time in the Behavioural Studies Unit at Taronga Conservation Society, and the rest of the time is a visiting fellow at the University of Western Sydney working with Dr Justin Welbergen investigating climate change in the Wet Tropics.
