Wikipedia Desktop Watchlist is a desktop application for enhanded watching of pages in your watchlist. Its main advantage, when compared with Special:Watchlist, is that you are able to "mark edits as read", i.e. delete them from the list, or, if you want, see only edits made since you checked for the last time (by marking all edits as read). The watchlist is updated every 10 minutes or after clicking the Refresh button.
Because of the limitations of MediaWiki API, it doesn't show events from many logs that show in normal watchlist, e.g. block log or deletion log.
It works only under Windows and requires .NET 4.0. If you don't have it installed, you can download .NET 4.0.
If you need any help, find a bug, like to change this application in any way, want me to publish the source code or even if you just use it, please, let me know on the talk page.
Installation
[edit]Download the ZIP archive, extract its contents to any directory and run WPDW.exe.
Usage
[edit]After entering your username and watchlist token or password, the application shows you the pages from your watchlist that were changed recently. Clicking on the "View" button shows a window that contains list of recent changes to that page.
Marking edits as read means that they won't be shown to you anymore.
All hyperlinks are clickable and open in default browser.
When the application detects that you have new changes in your watchlist, it notifies you by a pop-up window.
