Headquartered on an 8-acre eco-friendly campus in Falmouth, Maine, TideSmart Global comprises an industry-leading group of six companies primarily focused on experiential marketing. TideSmart Global’s flagship agency, emg3, is widely recognized as one of the most successful marketing agencies in the United States, earning national awards and industry accolades for exceptional strategy, creative delivery and operational expertise. [1] Throughout his career, Woods has represented a variety of companies and more than 100 professional athletes as a former NBA and MLB player-agent. Beyond his professional pursuits, Woods has demonstrated a passion for experiential marketing and sport/entertainment business. Woods spent a decade serving as an Adjunct Professor of Sports Business with academic affiliations at four major universities. Woods has also appeared frequently as a commentator/industry expert/guest for various media outlets (USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, ESPN, CNN, HBO, MSNBC) on the subject.
In early March, Woods announced his candidacy for the United States Senate. Running as an independent, Woods said he hopes to inspire change in the partisanship that has sharply divided the national political discourse.[2]
Woods is also a co-owner of the NBA D-League team, the Maine Red Claws – the NBA affiliate of the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets.[3] In addition, Woods is a partner in The Forefront, Thompson Point project, a projected $100+ million multi-use commercial development in Portland, Maine.
Woods hosts “TideSmart Talk with Stevoe,” a national weekly radio talk show. Featured on WLOB (1310 AM) in Portland, TideSmart Talk with Stevoe can be heard each Saturday, from 11:00am-1:00pm – and is available by podcast around the world.[4]
Together with his wife Katie and their three children, Woods lives in Yarmouth, Maine, where he has served his town’s government in a number of leadership roles and he currently serves as the Chairman of the Yarmouth Town Council.[5] Woods also proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the Big Brothers Big Sister organization in Southern Maine.[6]
