Ronald William "Ron" Ebsworth (27 October 1906 - 30 November 1941) was an English professional footballer who played for Dulwich Hamlet.

Early life

Ronald William Ebsworth was born on 27 October 1906 in Ilford, an eastern suburb of London. He was the son of Hubert John Ebsworth and Charlotte May Ebsworth.[3]

Ebsworth joined his local club, Ilford F.C., at some point before 1936. Not much about his career at Ilford is known, however, he was a popular figure at the club.[2]

Dulwich Hamlet

Ebsworth joined Dulwich Hamlet in 1936 at the age of 31, playing 11 times for the senior team in the first season. However, Ebsworth played much of his football with the Dulwich Hamlet reserve team, where he was captain for the 1938-39 season. Ebsworth was also an enthusiastic cricketer.[2][4]
