Jesse Aaron Carey Alvarez (born 26 April 1987), also known as Isai, is a Mexican professional footballer who can play as a forward and an attacking-midfielder.
Club career[edit]
[edit]Isai started off his career by joining his local youth academy and had been scouted by LAFC. He left their youth academy after being there for a year, when he later went on trail with Mexican side Atlante in 2026. He later stated when he joined the team that he had a connection to the club because his grandfather used to play for the team back in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He stayed with the team until 2030. He played as a left winger when he was there and scored a total of 40 goals and provided 15 assists. He won the Liga de Expansion MX in 2027 while he was there.
On 18 December 2030, Isai was transferred to Real Valladolid on loan. Not too long after, on 4 June 2031 Isai was transferred to Real Valladolid on a year long contract. He played as a left winger while he was there and scored a total of 20 goals and provided 10 assists. While he was there, he managed to win the Segunda Division and make it to the Quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey.
On June 30 2032, Isai signed with French side Stade-Rennais on a 2 year long contract. His first season he primarily played as a right winger and managed to score 7 goals and provide 23 assists that season. His second season he was moved to the left side, where he is more known to score goals. His second season he tallied 24 goals and 13 assists. His most rememberable performance was in the French Cup final against PSG where he scored a brace, the game ended 2-1 in favor of his team. While he was at the team Isai won the French Cup and made it to the Round of 16 of the UCL.
On July 1 2034, Isai signed with German side Borussia Dortmund on a 3 year long contract for a fee of 16 million euros. He played as a left winger and as a striker at his time there. When his 3 year contract ended he signed a bonus 1 year long contract. He stayed in total 4 years with the team. He scored a total of 107 goals and provided 54 assists at his time in Germany. He won 1 Bundesliga title, 1 DFB-Pokal, 2 DFB-supercups, and reached the Semifinals of the UCL.
On June 20 2038, Isai signed for Italian side Juventus on a 2 year long contract for a fee of 23 million euros. He played as a left winger and scored a total of 46 goals and provided 21 assists. His most rememberable performance was against rivals Inter Milan when he scored a hat trick in a 4-2 win. While he was in Italy, he won 2 Italian super cups, one Serie A title and an Italian Cup. With the team, he reached the Quarterfinals of the UCL twice.
On July 10 2040, Isai signed with Spanish side Sevilla on a year long contract for a fee of 17 million euros. He played as a striker when he was there and scored a total of 25 goals and provided 6 assists. He stayed in Seville for a season and won his first and only European trophy, the Europa League.
On June 25 2041, Isai signed with Spanish side Villarreal on a one year contract for a fee of 10 million euros. He played as a center-forward when he was with the team and scored a total of 28 goals and provided 9 assists. His most rememberable performance was against Spanish team Atletico Madrid where he scored a brace to win the Copa Del Rey, the only trophy he won with the team.
On July 5 2042, Isai signed with second division Spanish team Real Sporting on a 2 year contract for a fee of 7 million euros. He played as a left winger and scored a total of 45 goals and provided 22 assists. He won his second Segunda Division title with the team. His second season the team was promoted to LaLiga, where they ended at 15th place. Isai was asked why he had chosen to come to the team and responded that he has Asturian blood, his great grandfather had migrated from Asturias to Mexico in the 1930s during the Spanish civil war. This was Isai's last season in Europe.
On July 30 2044, Isai signed to former Mexican club Atlante, which was the last club he played for in his professional career. He signed to stay for 3 years. He played as a striker and scored a total of 61 goals and provided 17 assists at his time back. He was the top scorer of the "El Milagro del Atlante" season where they won the Liga MX while being 9th in the table the previous season. After that season he decided to retire from professional football in 2047.
International career[edit]
[edit]Isai was called up to play the 2031 CONCACAF Gold Cup after a good mid-season loan to Real Valladolid. On 9 June 2031, he scored a brace against Cuba in a 5–0 win in the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup. In the final, he scored a penalty in the penalty shootout which Mexico would eventually win against Jamaica.
During the 2033 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Isai, and four other members of the Mexico National Team, tested positive for the banned substance of Clenbuterol and were withdrawn from the team's tournament squad. However, all players were exonerated as FIFA determined that the accused had accidentally ingested the banned substance through contaminated meat that had been served during a pre-tournament training camp.
However, World Anti-Doping Agency appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to request a ban. But on 12 October 2033 WADA withdrew this request after the full file was available for them.
Isai was called up to play in the 2033 Copa America after a successful season in French club Stade-Rennais. He scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in the 7 game tournament. Mexico lost in the semi-finals to eventual winners Uruguay in a penalty shootout, where Isai missed a penalty. He got a lot of hate for this but didn't leave the national team.
Isai got called up for the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, this was his first world cup where he would play after missing the previous one. According to him, this was a dream since childhood. He would start all games, he scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists, Mexico made it to the Quarterfinals that world cup for the 4th time in their history. They got knocked out by France, but Isai calls it a blessing that they made it that far.
He got called up for the 2035 CONCACAF Gold Cup, after a successful season at Borussia Dortmund. Isai scored 3 goals, one in the final, and provided 3 assists in the tournament. He won the Gold Cup final against Canada and lifted his second international trophy.
