Yousri Fouda:

Yousri Fouda (January 1, 1964 -) is an Egyptian journalist who was famous for presenting a top-secret program on Al-Jazeera for several years until he resigned from it in 2009. The program became widely known. He also presented the “Akher Kalam” program on ONTV until the announcement of the program’s suspension in September 2014. Since August 2016, he has presented the weekly talk show and interactive The Fifth Authority at Deutsche Welle until August 2018, when he left work under controversial circumstances.

His life:

Born in Manshiet Janzour, Egypt. He obtained a master's degree in television journalism and a television production diploma at the Dutch Television Training Institute. He was the first Egyptian to supervise the training of Egyptian television workers within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Federal Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the Egyptian Radio and Television Union.

In 1993, he received a scholarship from the British Council to study a PHD at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde in Scotland, and the subject of the message was the comparative documentary film. . He also worked during this period, which extended until 1996 AD, as a broadcaster and producer in the Arabic section of the BBC in current events programs, and then moved to the Associated Press TV, where he participated in the establishment of the Middle East section and CNN.

Al Jazeera satellite channel

Since the establishment of Al-Jazeera in 1996, he has worked as a correspondent for UK and Western European affairs. In 1997, he participated in the establishment of Al Jazeera's office in London, in which he later held the position of Deputy Executive Director. Since February 1998, he began producing his monthly program, Top Secret, which attracted a huge number of viewers of all levels with its topics and treatment. The first episodes of this program won the Silver Award for the Cairo Festival for Radio and Television Production for the same year, and all of its episodes received the Outstanding Creativity Award from the American University in Cairo year 2000 AD. Then he resigned from the channel in 2009.

He gained great fame in his "Top Secret" program, and among the most prominent issues he covered was the story of the EgyptAir plane that crashed on its flight between Egypt and the United States of America, in addition to the Mossad case, the death of Abdel Hakim Amer, the second man in the era of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the events of September 11, 2001 and other issues.

After that, he moved to work for Naguib Sawiris' On-TV channel and presented the program "Last word" on it.

Deutsche Welle:

Since August 2016, the weekly interactive and talk show The Fifth Authority has been presented at Deutsche Welle, in mysterious and controversial circumstances, and according to the sources, it is still under legal investigation.

Personal life:

Fouda announced in February 2016 his engagement to the Syrian media, Alma Antabli, in a party that was limited to a specific number of close friends in a restaurant in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, before their separation after that.
