Jamilah B. Creekmur, (born October 9, 1976) is an American non-fiction, memoir writer. Jamilah was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She headed to New York in 1998 to pursue a career in Fashion and Business[1][2]. After graduating from the University of Delaware she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and later became an assistant buyer in women designer handbags with Saks Fifth Avenue.[3][4]
Early Career
[edit]In 2000 she started at AllHipHop.com, a site devoted to all things hip-hop, in a part time unpaid position[2]. In her first 3 months at AllHipHop.com the company's revenue had a noticeable jump in revenue [5]. She continued to manage the company's financial operations, sales and marketing initiatives, strategic partnerships and business development, [3][2] and earned the title VP of Sales and Marketing and COO [6][2]. As COO she was in charge of overseeing the business in its entirety from new business development to legal affairs, financial planning to managing the AllHipHop brand online and offline [3].
One year later, she helped the company make its first $1 million dollars in advertising sales revenue.[5][2] In 2003, she joined her friend, 'Grouchy Greg' Watkins, and husband, Chuck 'Jigsaw' Creekmur, on a full-time basis at AllHipHop.com.[4][7]
Current Career
[edit]Jamilah B. Creekmur now heads up a digital consulting firm Harbor Digital Online and manages Imagine Me Publishing, a book publishing company[1][7].She is also author of the book Raised by the Mistress co-written by New York Times Best-selling author Aliya S. King[7][8]. Jamilah B. Creekmur is a mother of one[9] and wife of Chuck 'Jigsaw' Creekmur co-founder of AllHipHop.com and is an affiliate of Delta Sigma Theta (1,9)
