Quality Education facilitates Emotional Intelligence in students

Introduction

Quality education is one that provides the learners with opportunities and resources so that they acquire the capabilities and skills required for their overall development which is balanced physical, emotional and mental development. Quality education will lead to enhanced well being of individual students encouraging them to practice sustainable ways of living and become economically productive in their future professional life. It plays a great role in eradicating poverty and fighting the inequalities existing in society. Through quality education which incorporates sound pedagogical and developmentals methods, a child is ensured to become an active, capable and productive member of the society.

Dimension of Quality Education

Equity

Equity means there is no discrimination against any individual on personal and social grounds such as gender, caste, and family background which will create hindrance in the attainment of educational ability at the basic minimum level. It mainly focuses on gender equity.

Relevance

Society is always changing. It is of crucial importance that the education system must be dynamic in order to be qualitative. It must be updated to fit the changing needs of time and society. It must be based on the present needs of the community to help the students apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to real-life situations. This will enable them to lead an efficient and useful life.

Student friendly

The learning and teaching process centres around the child in quality education. Each child is considered to be unique and the teaching strategies should be developed so that it recognizes the potential of each student. Attention must be paid to individual differences where students vary in their skills, abilities, interests, creativity, and aptitude, to provide them with enough opportunities which will encourage their active participation to demonstrate their skills and knowledge and make the best use of their potential.

Importance of Quality Education

School is the second most important institution of socialization and thus plays a pivotal role in shaping the personality of the individual. Quality education provided in school through appropriate teaching methodologies and relevant curriculum can bring a shift in the beliefs, attitudes and actions of the students helping him to become a global citizen of the world where he is aware of his roles and responsibilities. Knowledge attainment and application determine the effectiveness of quality education which is related to every aspect of development. Without education, the development of a country is not possible. Well-designed policies and frameworks are essential to provide universal quality education in order to achieve a sustainable future. Quality education fosters creativity and innovations, ensures employment opportunities and better state of health conditions to all. It is inevitable for the progression of human societies and cultures.

Conclusion

The attainment of the goal of quality education must start with the process where the countries start prioritizing the concept of learning for all where everyone learns basic life skills from teachers who are well trained in delivering a well-equipped curriculum. A country that does not deal strictly with corruption will compromise on the quality of education which will not impede its economic growth. Therefore, emphasis on character building is a necessity in quality education. In order to ensure quality in education, it should encourage innovation and ranking should be awarded on the basis of the original contribution, problem-solving ability, and creativity. Since education is considered to be the backbone of a country, it should necessarily focus on enhancing its quality to develop students into individuals who are not only trained professionals capable of earning a livelihood. but also have strong moral values to bring holistic changes to eradicate the wrong societal outlook.
